Southern Tablelands Arborist
Long driveways to reach the job. Mature rural windbreaks planted 50 years ago that now dwarf the buildings. Historic street plantings with 30-metre canopies. Working farms with old paddock gums that need bringing down cleanly.
Canopy has been servicing the Southern Tablelands since 1986. Goulburn and the surrounding region are part of our regular catchment, and our crews are on the road with cranes, chippers and rigging suited to jobs that need real capacity. Our arborists are EVO Energy accredited, fully insured, and used to the range of work Goulburn properties throw at them.
Whether it's a heritage elm on a Kenmore street, a wind-damaged pine on a Marulan property, a hazardous paddock gum out toward Bungonia, or a full site clear ahead of a shed build, we can help.

Local Experience
Goulburn's tree mix reflects its history with remnant Southern Tablelands natives alongside 150 years of European plantings and post-war rural windbreaks. Here are the ones we're called out to most.
The signature woodland pairing across Goulburn's rural properties and outer suburbs. Mature specimens are often part of protected grassy woodland, which means council and state environmental rules can apply to removal or heavy pruning.
The tree that gives Goulburn's older streets their character. Many are a century old or more, and now facing decisions about pruning cycles, elm leaf beetle treatment, or in some cases retention versus removal.
Common on Goulburn's historic properties and heritage streets. Long-lived and slow-growing, oaks need careful assessment before any pruning — heritage council rules often apply to mature specimens.
Planted in rows across rural blocks through the 60s and 70s. Now oversized, top-heavy, and prone to failure in westerly gales. Frequently the biggest removal jobs we take on across the region.
Along the Wollondilly River, farm dams and older boundary plantings. Invasive root systems, aggressive suckering, and often subject to NSW weed regulations that make ongoing management or removal the sensible call.
Iconic to the Goulburn landscape — old remnant trees left standing when the land was cleared for grazing. Often structurally compromised after a century of storm and drought stress. Proper assessment before any decision is essential.
Goulburn's mix of heritage European plantings, remnant native woodland and mature rural trees means removal or heavy pruning decisions often need more than a quick look. We can assess your tree, tell you what applies, and handle the work if that's the right call.
Council Approvals
Goulburn Mulwaree Council manages tree removal and pruning approvals across the local government area. Under NSW planning rules, many mature trees need council consent before removal or significant pruning — particularly in heritage areas or on properties with protected vegetation. If you're not sure whether your tree needs approval, we can check it for you and handle the paperwork if needed.
Service Area
We service central Goulburn and the surrounding Southern Tablelands, from Kenmore and Eastgrove out through Marulan, Tarago, Bungonia and Windellama. If you've had a tree notice from a local authority, a hazardous tree on a rural property, or a mature street tree that needs professional attention, get in touch. We'll come and look at it.
